WRAP has appointed specialist environmental consultancy Aqua Enviro to deliver 11 training events on different aspects of the Anaerobic Digestion (AD) process.
The first event – Improving AD operations – will aim to give those operating AD facilities clear and simple guidelines on how best to operate their plants, including understanding process monitoring techniques, requirements for PAS110 accreditation and different feedstock choice.
A modified version of this will also be available to Environment Agency regulators of AD plants and Natural Resources Wales.
Operations’ Director Matthew Smyth, said: “We are delighted to be delivering this important training. The number of commercial, industrial and farm-fed digesters has grown rapidly in the last few years with more than 150 operational facilities in the UK.
“This is fantastic progress for waste sustainability as a whole, but in order for the sector to continue this growth it is essential to ensure a viable market for the digestate end-product, to train operators effectively to enhance plants and to understand market requirements – ensuring long-term sustainability for digestate.”
The final event to be delivered will be Understanding digestate and its market requirements which will help operators understand the customer benefits from using digestate, give comprehensive knowledge of how to improve AD operations, as well as a detailed understanding of the different feedstock choices and processing options available.
Dates of the events are as follows;
