Paradigm Shift:
Sludge Treatment Objectives:
1. Stabilise (would be nice also if it didn’t smell.) (nice to have)
2. Pathogen Kill- Treated (2 log pathogen reduction)- Enhanced Treated (6 log pathogen reduction)
3. Economics- Digestion converts organic mass, which would be a cost, into biogas, which is an income.- The more you digest the better your economics.
4. Protect the Environment Always been a focus on the effluent stream. For sludge stream assumed – but not actually considered.
