Failures resulting from a Waste Policy that focusses only on recycling should not cause us to abandon the Circular Economy as a concept
The Water Industry has the potential to adopt a leadership position on all aspects of the Circular Economy, working with customers and other stakeholders to:
1. Spearhead a bio-based economy by monitoring and prohibiting recalcitrant contaminants from wastewater
2. Act as a waste minimisation and resource-recovery exemplar
3. Understand and pay the true cost of water
4. Develop a cross-sector land management strategy to deliver high quality food and water in harmony with nature
