At design stage, several options were envisaged:
I. Conventional seeding with local conventional digesters
II. Seeding with liquid Hydrolysed sludge from Blue Plain Washington DC
III. Seeding with digested cake from Blue Plain Washington DC
The last option (seeding with cake was retained) was retained for financial reasons.
But this leads to several challenges…
